About Moí

From archaeologist to UX researcher

My academic journey is pretty exciting. I began my undergraduate career, with the dream of becoming a comic book illustrator. Along the way, fell in love with anthropology and eventually graduated with a Bachelor's in it!

After graduating, I wanted to combine my passion for technology and social dynamics with my existing design and writing skills.

Eventually, I stumbled across UX design, worked hard to win my first internship, and have been working my way up the field ever since!

Here's how I Work

A little informational
chit-chat

Nobody likes a double-dipper. That's why I like to start by talking to team members to get a grasp on what's been done, what we know, and what we don't.

grappling with complexity

Uncomfortably broad generative research has consistently helped me interrogate old beliefs, open old doors and develop innovative solutions in complex, cutting-edge problem spaces.

Aligning research & business Impact

Working in startups has driven home the importance of  translating research & design outcomes into business objectives as much as humanly possible.

Working within constraints

My B2B experience has taught me how to work around issues like finding users, and budget/time constraints around usability testing.

Changing research goals, business targets, and testing protocols are all part of the package.

Kind of adventurous,
kind of not

I'm into anything from camping, hiking, and surfing all the way to underground punk concerts and urban exploration – whatever my friends and I find interesting that month.

I went skiing for the first time in January — and I now have another expensive sport hobby to add to the list.

That said, I'm also a serious nerd. When my social battery is tapped out, I like to sit in front of the TV with a nice cup of coffee, and spend the evening building a Gundam model kits, or Legos while filing away my Pokémon cards.
